Watt Utilities is the official energy broker partner of QTIC. By pooling the combined energy load of Queensland's tourism operators, we run a single competitive tender across multiple retailers, giving the group stronger negotiating position than individual businesses typically have.
Most tourism operators re-contract on their own, on the retailer's timeline, at whatever the market rate is that day. This campaign changes that. We aggregate your load with other QTIC members, go to market on a single date, and let retailers compete for the business. You get the pricing options back in May with no obligation to proceed.
It costs nothing to register and there's no commitment to switch. If the offer isn't right for your business, you walk away with a free Energy Health Check showing exactly where your current rates sit.
EOI closes Sunday, 21st June.
Your energy bill is one of your largest overheads. By pooling the load of QTIC members into a single tender, we give retailers a reason to compete for your business. Retailers generally price more competitively when tendering for a large collective load than they do for individual sites.
Most businesses re-contract when their current deal expires, regardless of where the market sits. Watt Utilities monitors ASX energy futures and looks to execute contracts when market conditions are favourable.
Every QTIC member who registers gets a no-cost review of their current rates against what we bring back from the tender. You'll know exactly where you stand before making any decision.
For the life of your contract, we audit invoices to confirm the retailer is applying the correct rates, including network charges and environmental levies. Billing errors do occur and we check for them.
Our team handles all energy queries for participating QTIC members, including free bill dispute support for the life of your contract.
If you operate multiple sites or carry significant commercial load, you'll be onboarded to our real-time energy monitoring portal. Track consumption across all sites, identify peak-demand events, and manage all your energy data from one place. (multi-site and C&I customers).
No. Registering costs nothing and commits you to nothing. You can review the offer in May and decide then. Worth noting: the more QTIC members who join the pool, the stronger the collective load going into the tender.
Instead of businesses approaching retailers individually, Watt Utilities aggregates the total energy consumption of all participating QTIC members and presents it as a single, large tender. Retailers compete far more aggressively for a collective portfolio than they do for a single site.
Yes. Send us your current bill and we'll check your contract end date and talk through your options for future procurement. You may be closer to expiry than you think, or have procurement options worth reviewing.
A Letter of Authority (LOA) is a document that authorises Watt Utilities to request your interval and meter data directly from your energy retailer. This data gives us an accurate picture of your consumption profile, which is what retailers use to price your contract. It does not give us authority to sign any contracts or make changes to your account on your behalf. You'll receive the LOA via email after submitting your registration.
No. As part of the QTIC partnership, there's no fee to join the tender or receive an Energy Health Check.
Yes, and multi-site operators often see the most benefit. Upload a bill for each site so we can include the full load in the tender.
No. This campaign is for commercial entities only.
We collect only what's needed for energy profiling: contact details, NMI numbers, and billing data. This information is used to build a load profile for the tender and is shared only with participating retailers under strict non-disclosure terms. It's never sold or used for any other purpose. All data is stored in compliance with the Privacy Act 1988.
